The cardinal aim of this conference is to disseminate knowledge about the latest developments in membrane science and technology among the leading researchers in the country and some of the internationally acclaimed pioneers. The key themes for the conference will span three major focus areas in the separation world:
1. Circular design and engineering of membranes for pressing separations
2. Bridging the industry-academia gap in a post-COVID-19 world
3. A tribute to Dr. Richard William Baker for his remarkable 60-year contribution in the field of separation sciences
Within our key themes, the conference will cover all technical areas of membrane science and separations, including membrane fabrication and modification, transport phenomena modeling, and membrane applications in a broad variety of areas such as water treatment, gas separation and carbon capture. The conference will feature advances in membrane technology from the latest innovations in synthesis, characterization, processing and modeling to the advanced applications in health, energy and sustainability as well as future materials and devices
The conference will host presentations and talks from the major contributors in the membrane field. It will give participants a unique opportunity to learn about the important developments in membrane separations directly from the people who have shaped the field. It will also provide them with the current perspectives and future trends of the area. Along with oral presentations and keynotes on numerous membrane-related topics, ICMS will also host a highly engaging and robust poster session.
We are very excited to have Dr. Richard Baker (Founder of Membrane Technology & Research), Prof. Klaus-Viktor Peinemann (founder of GMT), Prof. Suzana Nunes (Vice Provost, KAUST), Prof. Ivo Vankelecom (KU Leuven), and Prof. Cafer Yavuz (KAUST) as plenary speakers for ICMS-2023.
